Getting Out There

Today was fun.

First, Mom, Dad, and I went to the doctors again, and now I weigh 10lbs 1oz! A little more than when I was born and 10oz. more than last week. Whoo hoo! Mom and Dad are happy and relieved.

I got a new fancy onesy in the mail last night from my distant-aunt Fara. It's got a picture of Stitch (of Lilo and Stitch fame) and my name on it! Dad managed to get a good picture of me in the new suit. Auntie says with my name on it, it will come in handy for networking events. I'm not sure what that means...
The PU's took me to my first movie (is that considered a networking event?) There were lots of other people there. It was more of that Harry Potter they like. I didn't really watch it. I was hiding out under some blankets, eating most of the time. At one point, I was announcing myself, and Auntie rushed me out into the hall. I didn't want to tell people out there anything. I soon got over my desire to say, "I'm Teldyn and I'm at your event," so that's when we went back inside. I slept until I was hungry again. I can't say I actually saw the movie, but the talking and music was pretty good.

This weekend I'm going to my first birthday party--ninjas on ice. I've gotta find a good ninja suit... and learn how to ice skate... all before Saturday. Wish me luck. (Do ninjas wear powder blue polo shirts with their names on them?)

Weight and Water

Not a whole lot to say these days. Don't get me wrong, I'm diggin' my life, but I wouldn't exactly say it's filled with ground breaking stuff.

Mom, Dad and I went to the doctor's again for a weight check up. Last time, the doc was concerned that I had stagnated for a week. But now that Mom and Dad came up with a feeding schedule where I eat every 2 hours for about an hour, I'm gaining weight... And losing sleep. They wake me up and make me eat! Now, don't get me wrong, I love eating--I'm as American as the next guy--but I really love sleeping. Then they wonder why I'm cranky later on. Sometimes I'm so busy complaining about how tired I am that I forget to sleep. Ha ha! The PUs must love that. At least at night they let me get two full 4 hour blocks of sleepy time.

Dad has started reading "Harrig Podder" or something aloud to Mom and Auntie supposedly for some movie that's coming out soon... I don't really like it. I don't understand what he's saying. Plus, it means they're not paying attention to me. Luckily, I've learned how to remedy that. WAAAHHHHHHH (Pause for emphasis...Are they looking yet?) WAHHHH... (Yes!! A finger to suck on. Numm numm numm numm nummm. Workth effwy time.)

I also had my first bath. The PUs put me in a bowl in the sink. It wasn't so bad. I like the water, which is good because Dad's already found a swimming class for me that I can take when I'm 6 months old. I hope I'll swim as good as this guy:

I now have a funny little ditch on my stomach. My black belly button fell off earlier this week. The PUs seemed pretty happy about it. I wonder if that means I should try to make other parts of my body fall off too. I'm not sure what I should go with next. I don't really get these little nubs at the end of my feet. I seem to have a lot of them, so I can probably spare a few. Plus, sometimes they kick me in the face. I don't like that.

Ups and Downs

Not much happened this past week. Lots of sleepin', feedin' and... well, that's about it. I went out a few times: hospital for Mommy's check up (all's well), shopping at the mall, and dinner with friends Lee and Connie. Those two must be funny because even though I was asleep most of the time, there was lots of laughter. For dessert we all went to an ice cream shop. It smelled pretty good there, but I prefer my milk straight, warm, and from the tap.

The PU's (Parental Units) have started something they like to call "belly time." They place me on my stomach and watch me squirm. It's weird and sort of uncomfortable. I don't really get what I'm supposed to be doing. The PU's just watch me and giggle until I let them know that it's not all that fun for me.

Dad also holds me up so my feet can pat the floor. My legs seem to react on their own, flexing and straightening when they touch the ground. As usual, the PU's are very entertained by this. They seem a simple bunch.

These days, I love my motorized swing. It either puts me to sleep or gives me time to stare at the ceiling. I know the answers are up there. It doesn't matter which ceiling; they all speak to me. They know something. I'm gonna find out what.

The doggies are around me more now. I don't mind so much. Sometimes, I'm so surprised by their tongues' wet stink that I stop crying. I have to be careful, though, the PU's might think that means I like it.

Once in a while, Dad leaves for a few hours to go "surfing." He comes back quite a bit happier, tired-er and saltier. He says he's gonna take me one day.

Oh, whoa! The ceiling... gotta go.
